There are so many different ways you can help folks who are fighting breast cancer, from purchasing products that help organizations fight breast cancer, to volunteering at a breast cancer wing in a hospital.
If you’re unsure about how to give back during breast cancer awareness month, hopefully the suggestions below inspire you!
A Pink Giftgown
For the month of October, anytime anyone purchases a pink Giftgown, we will donate 15% of all proceeds to help end the fight against breast cancer. You can give back and help support the Canadian Cancer Society in Canada, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation in the U.S. anytime you get a pink Giftgown for yourself, or a loved one. Not only will you get a cute, inspirational Giftgown that makes your hospital visit a more pleasant one, but you’re also taking a stand against breast cancer!
Volunteer with your local charity
Breast cancer charities, and cancer charities in general are always on the lookout for folks to help them out. Give back to your community by volunteering your time to help run events, or do administrative tasks!
Sign-up to drive cancer patients to their appointment
Cancer is a nasty illness, and can take a lot out of a person. If you know someone, even if it’s a distant acquaintance who is fighting breast cancer, volunteer to drive them to their breast cancer appointments. It’ll make their life easier, and they won’t have to worry about getting sick when they're driving or bus.
Organize a fundraising party with your friends
If you want your entire community to give back, throw together a fundraising party! Many organizations have “How-to” guides on throwing a fundraiser. It’s an excuse to get together and see your friends, and all the money will go towards a good cause! Why not?
Spend time with loved ones fighting breast cancer
It’s so easy for life to get in the way of spending time with the ones we love. Make the time and the effort to spend time with loved ones fighting breast cancer. They’ll likely appreciate the company. Having breast cancer can be isolating. Lend your time and love to give back, it will certainly be appreciated.
