4 Life Hacks for New Moms

Being a parent is a 24/7 job.  This is especially true if you’re a first-time parent with a newborn.  To make life easier, we have compiled some life hacks for new moms that will save a great deal of time and hassle.

Get a robot vacuum

Being a new mother is tough because it can mean that you need to find time to do normal household chores on top of all the time you spend taking care of your baby.  So, why not have one of your chores done automatically?  A robot vacuum will keep your floor clean, and you don’t have to do any of the work for it.  This will give you one less chore to worry about and more time to spend on other chores or with your baby.

Have a changing station on every floor of the house

This one is more of a tip than a hack, but it is a lifesaver regardless.  If you and your baby spend most of your day on the main floor, why not just have a changing station there at the ready instead of having to go all the way upstairs every time they need a new diaper?

Get an over the sink drying rack

Counter space is valuable.  And when there’s a baby in the house, it means that you need extra space to dry pump and bottle parts on top of the space you already use to dry dishes.  An over the sink drying rack will save the day in this case, as it is the perfect place to let your bottle and pump parts dry, and it will decrease clutter in your kitchen

Warm up a towel for after bath time

When bathing your newborn, they can often become fussy when getting out of the bath due to the temperature change.  To keep them from crying, try throwing a towel in the dryer for 10 minutes before your baby gets out of the bath.  This way, you can wrap them in the warm towel as soon as they get out and prevent them from getting cold too quickly.  Depending on the layout of your house, this one may be hard to execute, so you may need someone else to put in the towel for you and retrieve it when you’re ready.

We hope these tips can be of some use to you!
